Efecte reports an important success on the way to increase its business in Germany. The specialist provider of cloud-based service management has won telecommunications provider mobilcom-debitel as a new customer. mobilcom-debitel is now using Efecte’s Edge Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform to manage service requests and IT assets. The solution is already being used by around 1,600 employees in day-to-day business and is planned to be made available for all branch offices in the second step of deployment.

Focus on IT assets
mobilcom-debitel wanted to optimize the ordering and management of its own IT assets and consolidate them in one central tool. The company was therefore looking for a solution to manage its service catalog and to replace its Configuration Management Database (CMDB), which no longer matched the situation in the company. The IT department wanted to offer its internal service customers a modern and easy-to-use front end for their daily work.
In a selection process, Efecte prevailed over competitors. The solution is easy and intuitive to use and offers advanced functions - such as a shopping cart with information on product bundles and sophisticated asset management. In addition, Efecte enables a very granular and clear visualization of all assets in a powerful CMDB.
"Our internal IT assets must be processed in various approval procedures and workflows but should be easy and convenient for business departments to order as a bundle", says Andreas Kock (Head of Workplace Services) at mobilcom-debitel. "Efecte was the only manufacturer in our bidding process that was able to fully map this important functionality out-of-the-box with its solution”, Kock continues.
Currently all internal service requests of mobilcom-debitel are processed with Efecte Edge. In a second step, the company plans to connect the mobilcom-debitel branch offices with the system, further consolidate asset management and map further business processes. Efecte will also support mobilcom-debitel in the area of Enterprise Service Management and map existing non-IT processes with its tool.
