New CMDB templates and strong focus on data security to comply with GDPR requirements.

Munich, March 5, 2019 - Efecte Plc, European provider of cloud-based Service Management software, is one of the first vendors to begin implementing the new ITIL best practices in its Enterprise Service Management (ESM) solutionThe latest version of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) was published on February 28th. It is intended to make the service management of IT organizations significantly more agile and to support the digitization of service processes.  The first step towards ITIL 4 compliancy for Efecte is to offer its customers a more modern view of infrastructure management in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Efecte has implemented the suggested changes from ITIL 4’s Service Configuration Management practice in its CMDB baseline, adding new templates for SaaS components and Cloud Infrastructure.   

Increased compliancy with GDPR requirements 

ITIL 4 provides organizations with recommendations to comply with the requirements of the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For example, within the framework of Service Configuration Management, it should be determined whether a local application or SaaS component contains sensitive personal data that may fall under the GDPR or other regulatory requirements. If this information is contained in a Configuration Item (CI), in turn, a responsible data protection officer should be assigned to each. Efecte has therefore added appropriate attributes to its configuration to record this information. 

The updated version of Efecte is available for all new implementations of the solution in Q2 2019, or existing customers can download it from Efecte’s customer community site.
